About UNT PST

The Texas Xi Chapter of Phi Sigma Tau was born Spring of 2010, and it attempting to move from strength to strength each semester. UNT PST is an internationally accredited honor society which aims to to promote student interest, community and advanced study in philosophy as well as providing avenues for publication of student papers (Since 1955, the society has published twice yearly a journal Dialogue, devoted to student contributions.)  and education of the discipline in general (Meetings involve student presentation of papers, outside speakers, debates on philosophical issues, etc.).

ELIGIBILITY:

Graduate students are eligible if they meet the requirements established for undergraduates (see below), or if they have completed at least one-third of the residence requirements of the master’s degree with a grade average of at least half on the highest grade of the working scale and half in the second highest grade.

Undergraduate students are eligible for active membership if they have completed three semesters or five quarters of the college course, rank in the upper thirty-five percent of their class, and have completed at least two semester courses or three quarter courses in philosophy with an average grade of over the second highest grade of the working scale.
